Fortune Lake Bible Camp, located in Crystal Falls, Michigan, is a rustic retreat destination serving both as a congregational service venue for the more than 80 congregations in the area as well as being open for private rental for personal and group getaways. The treehouses at Fortune Lake tend to get a little warm and muggy during the Michigan Summer months and so AEE was contacted with an opportunity to assist them in providing a more comfortable, and slightly modernized, experience for their campers by electrifying the more rustic camping zone.
To keep the experience as rustic and close to nature as possible, the aim of this project is to find an off-grid solar installation solution that has the lowest visual impact while maintaining an affordable and effective, energy delivery service. At the end of the project, the team will present a dispatchable solution in the form of an engineering design set that meets the needs of the Fortune Lake Bible Camp. It will include, electrical wiring, one-line diagrams, a list of materials needed, overall system design, etc.
